ImpulseRadar Sweden AB was founded by a collective of knowledgeable experts in 2015. The members of the founding team had more than 130 years’ combined experience from all aspects of the GPR industry including: system/software development, applications, marketing/sales, and production.

Besides the experience on existing markets and technologies, the founders possessed valuable knowledge of cutting-edge advancements and how to effectively integrate them into a reliable, user-friendly products. This latter, novel, knowledge is manifested in the performance of our products. To enhance our company’s value and stability, we focus on maintaining and broadening our expertise in our core technology, essential processes, and applications, both within our organization and through strategic partnerships and collaborations. and expand expertise around our core technology and key processes and applications, internally and through partnerships and collaborations. A key element of our strategy is to concentrate on applications and systems where we can significantly enhance functionality, usability, and overall performance.

A fundamental principle of our company is our commitment to providing exceptional quality. We perform test surveys on soils that exhibit a broad range of conditions. These final procedures prior to shipment are all about quality control and quality assessment and we have found it worthwhile to spend a lot of efforts in this field.

From the early days of intensive development of our core technology by a few employees, we have today expanded our team to 35 people. Most of them are working at our head office in Malå, Sweden, but we also have offices in Umeå, Sweden and Charleston NC, USA.

ImpulseRadar builds long lasting relations with local partners to effectively meet clients’ needs for support and service. In countries with large number of clients we have established local service centers, linked to, or managed by our distributors. We view our distributors and agents as a vital part of our client support network.

2015

  • ImpulseRadar is founded, Malå, Sweden

2016

  • Opening a new office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

2017

  • Launch of CrossOver Series CO4080, CO1760.
    CrossOver is a general-purpose series of GPR-systems, in three different housings and with 6 separate frequencies in the range 70- to 800MHz. It is designed for the professional-geo community.

  • Launch of Raptor-45. Raptor-45 has a center frequency of 450 MHz. Arrays configured with Raptor 45-units are suitable for utility mapping, archaeological investigations and railway investigations, among other applications

2018

  • Launch of Raptor-80. Raptor-80 has a center frequency of 800 MHz and is hence suitable for applications where higher resolutions are needed, roadbed layers, concrete scanning etc.
  • Launch of CrossOver CO730. It incorporates two channels with ultra-wideband frequencies centered around 70 MHz and 300 MHz. Inbuilt GPS-unit

2019

  • Opening subsidiary in the USA
  • Launch of PinPointR. The PinPointR offers a clear and dependable way to quickly and easily locate, avoid or map underground utilities with the functionality required to meet approved industry standards, whilst offering market-leading performance and data quality.

2020

  • Launch of 3D Condor software. Condor – 3D GPR Processing & Interpretation Software. Condor is modern processing, visualisation and interpretation software for the efficient management of Raptor 3D GPR array data.

2021

  • Launch of OspreyView. OspreyView is the first commercial application of a novel method of visualizing 3D-GPR data.

2022

  • The Addtech company acquired ImpulseRadar. By joining the Addtech network, ImpulseRadar aims to expedite its remarkable growth trajectory and elevate the company to new heights.
  • Launch of Raptor easy set-up kit. The new redesign is able quickly change the configuration between the Raptor push cart and vehicle-mount carrier.

2023

  • Launch of PLT ice edition. The compact ground penetrating radar system for ice and snow investigations.
  • Launch of four-wheel Raptor push cart. Updated hood design offering extra support for more sturdy protection and longevity. New four-wheel option, with support for the existing three-wheel version to match user requirements and survey conditions.

2025

  • ImpulseRadar employs 35 individuals and has the potential for future growth and expansion.
